What you can learn in this topic
To give some events more prominence than others, you can "feature" the events.
Featuring events means making specific events look different from regular events on your calendar. Events you feature are more likely to attract the attention of calendar visitors.
You can set up different levels of featuring to call attention to different types of events. A featured level corresponds to a unique layout and set of styles. For example, you might want to highlight sponsored events one way and official holidays another way.
Because setting up featured events involves several steps, it can seem complicated. It helps to back up and realize that all five required steps support just two basic actions, the ability to:
Important If you've run the Trumba Startup Wizard, your default event template already contains a Featured Event custom field, and featured events are already activated for your calendar. If you want multiple levels of featured events (e.g. Basic, Enhanced, Premier), it still may help to review steps 1-3 below. Step 4 introduces customizing the layout for featured events.
Steps for setting up featured events
1 | Create a featured events custom field
Before you can indicate whether an event is featured or not, you create a featured events custom field that you can assign to one or more event templates. To define your featured events custom field, you use the pre-defined field type List of choices: Featured Levels. |

2 | Assign the featured events custom field to one or more event templates
After you create the featured events custom field, you assign the field to one or more existing event templates or to a new template that you create. Then, you base events you want to feature on the event templates that contain the field. |
3 | Turn on featured events for your calendar
You turn on featured events on a calendar by calendar basis. Turning on featured events means letting a published calendar know about the featured event custom field that you created. Reminders

Select and customize a layout for each featured level you want to use
Three calendar views support featured events: Classic Table, Tile, and List. You select and customize featured layouts on the Edit Settings pages for these views. Reminder Events reflect the featured settings of the published rather than the owning calendar. If owning calendar A is mixed in to published calendar B, set up and customize featured events on calendar B. |

5 | (Optional) Promote featured events with a filtered promotion spud
Use feature level settings as a filter for displaying featured events in promotion spuds. You can set up the spud to display only featured events or to list featured events first, with all other events following in chronological order. |
