Set time zones
This topic explains how to set your account or calendar time zones.
Tell me more about how time zones work.
If you're not sure what the time zone is where you live or for another location, here's a web site that might help:
Change your account time zone
- Toward the top of the calendar workspace, click Account Settings.
- Under Required Account Information, for Time zone, choose the time zone you want.
- You can also change the time zones of your calendars to match your new account time zone setting:
- To change only calendars that have the old account time zone setting, select calendars whose time zone is [old time zone].
- To change time zones for all of your calendars, select all my calendars.
Note When you change the time zone of a calendar, event times adjust to reflect the change. For example, if you change to a time zone that is two hours ahead of your old time zone, an event that started at 12:00 pm will now start at 2:00 pm.
- Click OK.
Set or change a calendar's time zone
By default, each new top-level calendar you create has your account time zone and each new subcalendar you create has the time zone of its parent calendar. You can change the time zone setting when you create a new calendar or subcalendar or at any later time.
To set a calendar's time zone
- If the calendar already exists, click Calendar Settings above the calendar.
If you're creating a new calendar, under Tasks to the left of your calendar, click Create a new calendar.
- Under Display Options, for Time zone, choose the time zone you want.
- Choose any other settings you want, and then click OK.
Notes
- When you change the time zone of a calendar, event times adjust to reflect the change. For example, if you change to a time zone that is two hours ahead of your old time zone, an event that started at 12:00 pm will now start at 2:00 pm.
- If you're creating a new calendar by importing a file from another calendar program, in the second step of the Import Events process, under In Which Time Zone Are the Event Times Specified, choose the correct time zone.
