Import Facebook events

You can import your Facebook events into Trumba using the "webcal" link provided in Facebook.

This is a one-time import, not a subscription. Edits made to the same events in Facebook don't automatically update in Trumba; however:

  • If you edit an event in Facebook, then re-import it into the same Trumba calendar, the event information updates in the event already in Trumba.
  • If you edit an event in Facebook, then re-import it into a different Trumba calendar, it comes in as a new, separate event.

Included with the import

  • The title, date, time, location, and description from the Facebook event are included in the import. (If you have hyperlinks in the description, they are brought over as well.)
  • The link to the original event in Facebook is included as the Web link on the event in Trumba.
  • The location map link, if you've added it in Facebook, does not come over.

    To add the map link in Trumba after you've imported an event, open the event in the Trumba editing environment, and then in the Location field, click Map Link:

  • Images associated with events in Facebook are not included with the import. To add the image to the event in Trumba, see Add Images to Events.

To import Facebook events into Trumba:

  1. Log into Facebook, and then on your Newsfeed page, click Events:

  2. In the lower-right of your Events page, right-click the Upcoming Events link, and then click Copy link address:

  3. In Trumba, select the calendar into which you want to import the Facebook events (so that it has a check mark in its selection box), and then under Tasks, click Import calendar events.
  4. On the Import Events page in Trumba, paste the link you copied in step 2 into the Enter the web address of a data file containing the events you wish to import field, and then click Next:

  5. Continue the import process as you normally would, starting with step 4 under "To import event information" in Import Events.

Note Facebook doesn't support event import at this time, so you can't import Trumba events into Facebook.
