Over a shared love of food, there’s no more flavourful way to celebrate cultural diversity across workplaces, community groups and schools, than serving up an A Taste of Harmony event. 

Now in its 17th year, A Taste of Harmony (Monday, 17 March to Friday, 18 April 2025), has grown into a nationwide event, with thousands of people coming together to share meals, stories, and traditions from their cultural backgrounds.

An initiative of the Scanlon Foundation, A Taste of Harmony is the nation’s biggest and best annual cultural diversity event. It is designed as an opportunity for people to connect, recognise and celebrate cultural heritage as a way of fostering social cohesion within a fun and relaxed setting.

The free initiative invites people to share a meal from their heritage and participate in activities to learn about different cultures.

There are a number of ways to celebrate A Taste of Harmony, such as:
* Host a lunch or morning tea with your teammates to share food and stories
* Create a team cookbook with everyone’s favourite recipes from their culture
* Enjoy team-building exercises that help you learn more about your colleagues
* Learn more about Ramadan by utilising our newly created materials
* Utilise ATOH’s discussion guides to better embrace cultural diversity at your workplace.

At a time when cultural divides are being felt more heavily across the nation, the opportunity for workplaces to support social cohesion is more important than ever.

Celebrating natural environments in urban areas Inhabited: Anthromes of Queensland is a gentle reminder of the importance of unseen ecosystems and that human interaction changes environments. Queensland-based environmental photographer LeAnne Vincent’s immersive artwork combines cyanotype photograms, digital photography, hi-vis work shirts and field recordings.

Featuring Queensland artists and designers, Wildflowering by Design celebrates our botanical heritage through a design lens, exploring materiality, handcrafting and the digital realm.

Join us for an inspiring art experience at Redland Art Gallery, Cleveland! This unique drop-in activity invites you to contribute to a stunning collaborative artwork featuring mini cyanotypes created by local artists during a recent retreat inspired by the Wildflowering by Design exhibition.

In this hands-on workshop, you'll transform a simple pinecone into an adorable bird using beads, beaks, legs and real feathers for tail plumage. Perched on a raw timber base, your charming rustic bird will make a perfect handmade decoration or gift.

Sign up for a free 30-minute safety induction at the Cleveland Library Makerspace, where library members can learn the basic instructions required for the safe use of all the equipment. 

The safety induction is required for using the Makerspace. Once you complete the induction, you will 
be able to reserve the equipment via Bookable. 

During the safety induction, you will have the opportunity to upload the signed completion form to your Bookable account. To facilitate this process, we kindly request that you create a Bookable account prior to attending the induction.

Age requirements: Children under age 12 (including babies) are not permitted in the Makerspace. Induction participants aged 12 to 15 require a parent or guardian to attend the induction and any Makerspace sessions with them. 

Join us for a fun and energetic morning as we talk, sing, read, dance and move together. Learn action rhymes and songs to develop your toddler’s pre-literacy, language, communication and social skills.

Children 12 years of age and under are to be actively supervised by the parent/carer at all times.

Greg Hughes has created a series of beautiful watercolours inspired by his love of nature and the environment. At the same time he encourages us look beyond the roadworks signs to the beauty beyond. Opening Night for this exhibition is from 5pm on the 5th April. Come and meet Greg and check out the exhibition while enjoying some drinks and nibbles on the verandahs of our wonderful gallery. The exhibition continues to the 27th April.
